Requirements

 If you’re at least 12 years old and certified as a Scuba Diver or higher, you can enroll in the Equipment Specialist course.

​The Learning

 You’ll learn about routine care and maintenance procedures as well as scuba equipment storage recommendations. Your instructor will show you how to overcome some common equipment problems and offer equipment configuration suggestions. You'll even get to jump into the water to fine tune your equipment configuration, and maybe try new or unfamiliar equipment.

By studying before the the practical application sessions, you’ll be better prepared to start practicing your equipment specialist skills with your Instructor.

​The Gear

Your instructor will ask you to bring your scuba equipment to class, but will also have examples of other dive gear for you to work with during training.

With your PADI Equipment Specialist certification, you'll know your gear better. Consider earning additional specialty diver certifications, the Advanced Open Water Diver certification, or the prestigious Master Scuba Diver certification.
